Steve & I could not be happier for both of you~ we are so looking forward to celebrating your marriage with you, family and your friends!
I am extremely happy for you both!!
Hope to be able to make this event. Have been searching out airfares. Some of them have me making 4 stops. Will keep searching the various airlines that fly into Santa Rosa as that appears to be the best and closest location to Sebastapol without have to go through renting a car.
Herbert and I are so excited- can't wait!
This is such a wonderful time for all! Heart felt joy. see you there .

Please call the hotel and let them know that you would like to book a room for the wedding of Darren Ponce and Staphanie Schultze. This hotel is one of the largest and we will have a reduced group rate for our guests from the hotel to the wedding site. Parking at the wedding will be limited. Please feel free to use THIS link to set up a group carpool to our wedding site. This is a great hotel as it has lots of amenities, full breakfast in the mornings, and is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Other hotels worth noting are listed below if you would like to enjoy a more quaint and rustic stay in Sebastopol.
Very close (2.5miles) away from wedding site. It is an old style road trip with the family style hotel. Sound travels through walls, but the hotel has a distinctively quaint look and feel to it. This hotel is just a 5 minute drive from the wedding site.
Expect a quiet and quaint inn. It has a relatively low rate for a Bay Area/California hotel with comparable prices of the Fairfield Inn. The Sebastopol Inn is 15 minutes away from the wedding site.
Oakland International Airport (OAK)
The Oakland Airport has the lowest prices for direct flights in the Bay Area and is the closest airport to Sebastopol after Sonoma County Airport. OAK airport is 68 miles (one hour) to Sebastopol.
San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
The SFO airport is situated in the southern part of San Francisco and is a very nice airport to fly into, although the Oakland Airport is slightly closer to Sebastopol and is typically cheaper. SFO is 76 miles (1hour and 20 minutes) to Sebastopol.
Sonoma County Airport (STS)
This is the Sonoma County Airport and it is very close Sebastopol, but only has Alaska Airlines fly into it. Direct flights from San Diego and Seattle exist, but most other flights will likely have a stop at another airport. Please consider pricing if you are flying into this airport. STS airport is 10 miles (20 minutes) to Sebastopol.
Step one: Pick out the ring. I did this on my own. I had an idea that Stephanie liked vintage styled rings and i was able to pick the one I thought she would like best. It was easier than I thought it would be becuase the one I chose stood out so much from the others.
Step two: Figure out a thoughtful and fun way to propose. We wanted to go Artomat vending machine hunting with some friends in San Francisco and I thought I could propose in SF at an Artomat machine. Then the idea hit me to take one of the boxes that the machines dispense and replace the insides with the ring! We already had found machines in Vegas and Chicago so I used one of the old boxes to hide the ring inside.
Step three: Find a way to have Stephanie open the box in a way so that she would see the ring at just the angle inside the box and enlist Gio, our cat, to help me put it together early in the morning while Stephanie was still asleep.
Step four: Make sure the cat doesn't get ahold of the ring and propose to Stephanie at the Artomat machine at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. As it turns out I was able to swap a box that the machine dispensed and convinced Stephanie and our group of friends, who were totally in on the proposal, to open their boxes at the same time. We all opened our boxes and Stephanie had a short pause and then looked straight into my eyes as I knelt down to formally propose.
Step five: Stephanie said yes!
We first met online through Match.com when we exchanged winks! After several messages back and fourth we decided to have our first date at a cafe in Downtown San Jose called Bijan Bakery & Cafe on the night of the Christmas tree lighting. After a few desserts we went to listen to live Music at the Fairmont Hotel lobby and bar area. A long conversation ensued and by the end of the date there was no question that we wanted to meet for a second date. And the rest is history!
I was born and raised in the Bay Area just 30 minutes south of San Francisco in the city of Sunnyvale. I attended San Jose State University where I received my Political Science Bachelors Degree. I later received my Masters of Science Degree from the University of Denver in Environmental Policy and Management. I currently work in the non-profit world of fundraising and enjoy volunteering my time to local environmental organizations. My three top hobbies are tasting the food culture in urban areas, hiking, and building/working with computers.
I was born in Chicago and I grew up on the outskirts of the City in a town called Buffalo Grove. I attended School of the Art Institute of Chicago for my Bachelor in Fine Arts. I later attended Notre Dame De Namur where I received my double Masters in Art Therapy and Marriage Family Therapy. My favorite hobby and source of enjoyment are crafting and art making.
